SEATTLE, WA - June 24, 2009: Lightspeed Design, Inc. announces the release of its new DepthQ® family of stereoscopic software for state-of-the-art capture and playback of HD 3D media. DepthQ® HD 3D software has been successfully serving hundreds of professional clients in corporate, entertainment, medical and industrial applications since 2002. That software has now evolved into the new DepthQ® family of stereoscopic software -- DepthQ®Capture™ and DepthQ®Player™.

DepthQ®Capture™
DepthQ®Capture™ is a powerful software solution for the precise capture, recording and monitoring of stereo 3D video from two simultaneous camera inputs (Analog, HD-SDI, HDMI, FireWire or USB) at dual HD resolution. Features include low-latency, real-time monitoring, a camera alignment aid and visual overlays to assist in optimizing your 3D effects for various target playback screens.
DepthQ®Capture™ captures your two independent camera video sources, concatenates them together as an above/below image to preserve sync, processes the result - applying any scaling and compression required - and then serves the final stereo data as a single data stream to any 3D (or 2D) monitoring device at the required resolution, frame rate, and encoding standard for that display.

DepthQ®Player™ is a feature-packed software solution for the high-quality playback of stereo 3D movies from a standard PC. Easy to use and designed from the ground up as a professional product, DepthQ®Player™ combines efficient code architecture and superior throughput for high-bandwidth playback of either locally stored or URL-accessible stereoscopic movies, as well as 3D streaming IP video (MPEG2-TS RTP/UDP).

SEATTLE, WA - June 11-17, 2009: Mollie Fabric utilizes a DepthQ® HD 3D Projector to create her BFA Thesis Exhibition at the Center for Digital Arts and Experimental Media, University of Washington. Titled "Wolves and Drought", her installation explores spatial relationships and the representation of boundaries through the use of a nontraditional projection surface and the DepthQ stereoscopic HD 3D projector.
Mollie Fabric works in digital and traditional visual media. Throughout the process of building this piece she has found optimism and wry humor in the words of Paulo Coelho: "A shepherd always takes his chances with wolves and with drought, and that's what makes a shepherd's life exciting."

MILAN, ITALY - May 23, 2009: Lightspeed's DepthQ® HD 3D Projector was utilized by NVIDIA to create an interactive, 3D gaming experience for the Diesel Flagship store in Milan, Italy. Diesel chose their most prestigious store in the EU to launch this 10 day event that embraces both fashion and the latest 3D stereoscopic technology.
Located in the piazza San Babila, Diesel expects 15,000 - 20,000 tourists to pass by each day. Several 3D Gaming Demo kiosks are located in the store with one visable through the main window. The most impressive demo station is a fully operational enclosed cabin complete with a DepthQ HD 3D projector, NVIDIA GeForce 3D Vision, a racing seat, pedalboard, gears and steering wheel for people who want full immersion into the game.

Minneapolis, Minnesota – July 2008: Lightspeed Design, Inc. today announced the installation of two DepthQ mobile® 3D visualization suites and a 3D IP video broadcasting system, within the University of Minnesota’s SimPORTAL program.
The 3D systems will be used for training and to support two separate operating rooms based on the Intuitive Surgical da Vinci® S™ robotically assisted surgical platform.
The system also includes an innovative 3D IP video broadcasting system, which allows real-time streaming of surgical procedures on the Universities local high-bandwidth network and potentially onto the internet. The 3D systems will be used for training and to support two separate operating rooms based on the Intuitive Surgical da Vinci® S™ robotically assisted surgical platform.
The system also includes an innovative 3D IP video broadcasting system, which allows real-time streaming of surgical procedures on the Universities local high-bandwidth network and potentially onto the internet. The new technology is capable of both 3D video IP broadcasts in full-color 3D and also a highly refined 3D anaglyph format.

The surgical procedure was broadcast live in HD 3D, from an Operating Room, based on the Intuitive Surgical da Vinci® S HD ™ Surgical System, at the Royal Alexandra Hospital to 500 attendees of an instructional session at the 2008 Canadian Urological Association (CUA) meeting.
The session was hosted by Capital Health's Centre for the Advancement of Minimally Invasive Surgery (CAMIS) and the BEAM Regional Telehealth program, in collaboration with Stryker Canada and Minogue Medical Incorporated.
